Many of our recipes came from the cookin’, picklin’ and cannin’ grandmothers in my East Texas family. These pickles are my great grandmother, Mama Hacy’s bread and butter style pickles. As a kid I could eat a whole jar if no one was watching. They are quite savory and lightly sweetened. The turmeric gives them that yellow glow and flavors them wonderfully, along with the onions, bay leaves, cloves, celery and mustard seeds. I call them “creation” pickles because it takes 7-days to make them. ~Picklin’ Parson
